Shaan Ramaprasad is a producer, songwriter, and arranger whose work spans pop, hip-hop, orchestral, and global genres. His credits include Teddy Swims, 21 Savage, Elyanna, Mika, A.R. Rahman, Cher,  the Jonas Brothers, Hope Tala, Rema, Lawrence, 24KGolden, Luke Chiang, Mac Ayres, Jordan Ward, Chance the Rapper, Jamila Woods, Asake, Rapsody, Darren Criss, SAILORR, Stella Cole, KYLE,  Xavier Omar, Reuben James, among many others.​

Shaan was one of the featured arrangers in The Voice Of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration, a collaboration between Whitney Houston's estate, Primary Wave, and Park Avenue Artists. Through this project, and several others, Shaan has scored for the National Symphony Orchestra (Kennedy Center), Chicago Philharmonic (Ravinia Festival), Nashville Symphony, and Firdaus Orchestra (A.R. Rahman).

Shaan's scoring work also includes campaigns for brands like GAP and SoundCloud.

 

He’s arranged and performed live with artists CARRTOONS and Wale, leading string ensembles at NPR’s Tiny Desk and the Kennedy Center.

Shaan records on a violin he crafted himself, under the guidance of East Tennessee fiddle maker JW Green. The two were guests on NBC's TODAY Show, with their story shared by US News & World Report. 

 

Outside of the studio, Shaan co-founded 33 West, a salon-style concert and dinner series in Harlem that brings together emerging musicians and industry professionals in an intimate, community-oriented space. To broaden 33 West's impact, Shaan now serves as a curator for the Perelman Performing Arts Center, featuring 33 West artists in their own solo shows which are free to the public.

Shaan studied at Vanderbilt University, where he served as musical director of the Melodores vocal ensemble. As an undergraduate student, Shaan produced the group's domestic and international tours, with stops at Dubai's ChoirFest, America's Got Talent, and the Ryman Auditorium.
