Shaan Ramaprasad is a producer, string arranger, and songwriter. His credits include Teddy Swims (Grammy® nomination), JID (Grammy® nomination), 21 Savage (Billboard #1 Album), Ravyn Lenae, Jack Harlow, Elyanna, Monte Booker, Mika, A.R. Rahman, Cher,  the Jonas Brothers, Hope Tala, Wizkid, Olamide, Rema, Lawrence, 24KGolden, Luke Chiang, Mac Ayres, Jordan Ward, Chance the Rapper, Jamila Woods, Asake, Rapsody, Smino, Darren Criss, SAILORR, Stella Cole, Gareth Donkin, KYLE,  Xavier Omar, Reuben James, Samara Cyn, jev. among many others.​

He’s arranged string sections for with artists including CARRTOONS (NPR Tiny Desk), Wale (Kennedy Center), Muni Long (Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala), and Yung Lean (Brooklyn Mirage).

​

Shaan has scored for Adidas (SS26 Superstars feat. JENNIE from Blackpink), GAP (Cult Gaia collaboration) and SoundCloud (R&B Documentary) both via sync placements and bespoke writing. 

​

Shaan arranged for The Voice Of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration, a collaboration between Whitney Houston's estate, Primary Wave, and Park Avenue Artists. Through this project and others, Shaan has written for the National Symphony Orchestra (Kennedy Center), Chicago Philharmonic (Ravinia Festival), Nashville Symphony, and Firdaus Orchestra (A.R. Rahman).

Last year,  Shaan was selected by DJ Jazzy Jeff to attend his annual Playlist Retreat.

Shaan records on a violin he built himself, under the guidance of East Tennessee fiddle maker JW Green. The two were guests on NBC's TODAY Show, with their story shared by US News & World Report. 

 

Beyond the studio, Shaan hosts 33 West, a salon-style concert and dinner series in Harlem that brings together his collaborators and musicians of all stages. Videos from the series have garnered 20 million+ views.  Shaan also serves as a curator for the Perelman Performing Arts Center, featuring 33 West artists in their own solo shows which are free to the public.

Shaan hold a B.E. in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, where he was musical director of the Melodores (vocal group).  As a student, Shaan produced tours with stops at Dubai's ChoirFest, America's Got Talent, and the Ryman Auditorium.​
